　" Kiss from a rose "是英國創作歌手 Seal 席爾最知名的作品，寫於 1987 年，但席爾對這首遊戲之作完全沒有信心，錄完試聽帶就丟在角落不敢示人。1991 年席爾發行首張個人專輯時，裡頭沒有這首歌，直到 1994 年籌備第二張專輯，才勉為其難拿出來給製作人。

　這首歌在 1994 年七月發行為單曲，也被該年的奇幻電影《 The Never Ending Story III 大魔域第三集》收錄為插曲，可惜兩者市場反應都欠佳。

　沒想到不久以後，知名導演喬舒馬克竟然打電話徵求席爾的同意，他想在電影《 Batman Forever 蝙蝠俠 3 - 謎天大聖》中妮可基嫚和方基默的愛情場景使用這首歌。

　1995 年，" Kiss from a rose "成為《蝙蝠俠 3 》電影原聲帶發行的第二首單曲。隨著電影大賣，這首歌也一路長紅登上全美百大單曲榜冠軍寶座，最後成為年終總排行第四名。隔年的葛萊美獎典禮上，這首歌更是風光的為席爾拿下年度最佳歌曲、最佳唱片和最佳流行男歌手三項大獎。

　席爾在後來的專訪中談及這首歌：

　

「這首歌一開始是一個實驗，我為此感到難為情，所以我不會播放給我的製作人 Trevor Horn 崔佛宏恩聽。說實在，我從來沒有真正為此感到自豪，儘管我喜歡崔佛宏恩在錄音時中所做的，是他把我牆角那盤磁帶變成了 800 萬張唱片銷售量，我的名字因此家喻戶曉。」

　「當我獲得葛萊美獎時，我意識到它不只是一首角落裡錄音帶裡的歌曲。當然，我現在很喜歡它，我非常感激我有這樣一首大多數人都喜歡的歌。」
